    Protection on track days?

I can't speak for the RR, but I can say from experience that the GB Racing secondary clutch cover for the R does not do its job in a slow low side (bottom edge of the clutch was destroyed even if the main part was protected by the cover). I don't recall anyone complaining about the RR so I...

Where are you buying your tyres?

I use FWR too, but they are not as cheap (vs others) as they used to be. I paid about 375 for a pair of S23s (fitted) last Sep.... never mind that the front has already been replaced and the rear now needs changed thanks to massive nails... FML

    Odd starting issue

I took my Gen 2 out on an overnight trip a couple of weeks ago. It started fine and I got to my destination no issues. The next morning I tried to start it whilst sitting on it - kick stand up. It did start but didn't sound happy.. on my way back I had to stop twice and getting going again was...

    Battery recommendations

Not sure how long the LI batteries last yet. My 2021 Li has been resuscitated twice by BMW recovery after falling to a charge level below what the charger will recognise, and I think I have jump started it from another bike (if it wasn't my LI then it was a proper battery in another bike. If it...

    Annual Insurance Rant

Light at the end of the tunnel... or just an ad for their crappy insurance.. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2024/april/insurance-prices-begin-to-fall/ (my experience of them is that you only get a good price if you accept an excess far beyond what is fair and reasonable)

    Mirror Adjustment (Not on RR)

They do... eventually... took way more persuasion (and wd40) than expected though. Next trick is to make the b*****d lock tight again, now everything's where it should be.

    Annual Insurance Rant

I pay Bemoto just under a grand for 2 RRs and an R, right on the edge of London, and with a claim from 2021... which really did not affect the premium much, £10-20. Go figure... I don't know if days to expiry affects renewal quotes, but I always sort it as early as I can.

    Mirror Adjustment (Not on RR)

I'm trying to fix the mirror on the 2020 S1R (old shape). The right hand OEM stalk mirror was dislodged, and it now flaps about when I am riding. When you pull up the rubber cover you see two nuts, as per pic, which need to be adjusted. They look like they should separate, with the bottom one...

    Worst jobs on these bikes

Don't worry Alex, I have never seen it that tidy, practically it's a single garage!! 😇

    Dealer insight on mods ?

That's a weird one - you spotted it on the day you collected it, but after you had ridden away, yet they said no? I had paint corrected under warranty, on my R after about 6-9 months because it was in a hard to notice spot... but once you noticed you couldn't unsee it...

Also completed, doesn't take long (and they only ask you to justify the first couple of responses)

    New to me S1000 RR

We were going to a track day at Cadwell (from London), followed by a few days riding through Yorkshire and Wales. I did the whole thing in leathers, but due to the heat he rode up in lighter gear and packed his leathers into the luggage system (partially explaining the weight). Near Cadders one...

    New to me S1000 RR

If you go for Ventura just be careful about recommended weight. As Immortal Indian can attest, it will not hold 55kg :ROFLMAO:
